We are a diverse church of people (ages/ethnic backgrounds/interests/jobs/family situation). But what unites us is our love for Jesus Christ, His Word, and our longing to know Him better as we make Him known to people around us. We are currently led by two Elders, who serve the church full-time:
Paul became Pastor at SCEC in 2010 after 7 years of ministry in Newport, South Wales. He is married with three daughters, one of whom is married. Various wider responsibilities have been relinquished in order to keep up with a growing church congregation.
At South Craven his main responsibilities are preaching and teaching, evangelism in South Craven, developing and leading the elders and deacons, stimulating prayer and leading the finance team.
He likes to potter in the garden and walk the dog.
Martin moved to Yorkshire in 1982 and later became Pastor of Bethel Church in Otley for 30 years. He now serves as Co-Pastor at South Craven Evangelical Church. Part of his role is to lead our church plant, Emmanuel, in Keighley. He has three grown up children and three grandchildren. He helps lead the church planting initiative, Gospel Yorkshire, and is Director of the Yorkshire School of Christian Ministry.
At SCEC his main responsibilities are preaching and teaching, midweek meetings, training and development, counselling, communication, and administration.
He loves walking and reading, often simultaneously!
